He Who Has Ears To Hear
By: Donna J. Kazenske
Several times throughout the Scriptures we see the Lord repeating the same phrase or thought to those whom He was ministering. One of the phrases that continually absorbs my attention is this one: “He who has ears to hear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying.” When the Lord declares something in His word more than one time, we should take notice of it
because He is trying to get that particular truth to penetrate from our heads to our hearts. There are specific instructions that the Lord needs to speak to us regarding the future of our families, our churches, our ministries, our vision, and our evangelistic outreaches. The words that He is speaking now will shape and mold our future tomorrow.
How many Christians are really listening to what the Spirit of God is saying to them in this vital hour? Better yet, how many are walking in obedience to what the Lord is asking them to do?
Matthew 9:37-38 – Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
The Spirit of God has been calling the body of Christ to the harvest field with more urgency than ever before because the fields are ripe for the harvest. Souls are crying out in desperation for that void in their lives to be filled, but they don’t understand that the void within them cannot be satisfied with the things of this world. Jesus Christ is the only one
who can fill that void of emptiness in their lives.
Romans 10:14 – How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!”
It’s the responsibility of the body of Christ to reach out to the lost and unsaved population that inhabits this world. The Scripture says they cannot hear without a preacher. They cannot hear what the Spirit of God is saying unless someone tells them.
Matthew 28:19 – “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you…”
The Lord’s command to us is “go”! Go and make disciples in every nation of the world. I once heard a preacher who said, “Two thirds of God is “go”.
Many in today’s society don’t want to leave the comforts of their
air-conditioned homes and over stuffed refrigerators. They don’t want to leave their families, their loved ones, their boyfriends, and their girlfriends. They couldn’t even begin to imagine themselves sleeping on the floor of a mud hut with no electricity or running water. Many in today’s society have not learned the secret of dying to self and crucifying the flesh.
1 Cor. 6:20 – For you were bought at a price.
When we gave our lives to Jesus, we gave up our rights to live for ourselves. Christianity is a lifestyle of death and crucifixion, but many don’t seem to appreciate hearing that side of the gospel.
Matthew 16:24 – Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”
If we really want to hear what the Lord is saying to the church today, all we have to do is open up the word of God and begin reading it. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He hasn’t changed his mind regarding the salvation of souls. He hasn’t changed His mind regarding healing the sick and raising the dead. It’s the same message that Jesus preached two
thousand years ago. It’s the same message the apostle Paul preached as he traveled throughout the provinces of Asia Minor, Rome, Greece, and possibly Spain. It’s the same cry of the Spirit going forth from continent to continent. The Lord is looking for those who are willing to pay the price to serve Him. He’s looking for laborers who are willing to
work in the fields so that the harvest can be brought in quickly.
What’s holding you back today, friend? Is it fear? Are you afraid of flying in an airplane? Is it pride? Is it selfishness? Is it a lack of finances? You must receive deliverance from whatever it is that’s holding you back from doing the will of God. It’s time to lay all of your excuses
down and follow Jesus.
Fulfillment comes as we walk according to His perfect plan and will for our lives. It’s not always easy to do what God is requiring us to do, but when we do it, regardless of how we feel or what we think, we will see His hand moving mightily upon us.
There have been many times when the Lord has called me to go to some very hard places to minister His word. I really didn’t want to go to those places, but I knew in my heart that I had to be obedient. It wasn’t always easy, but it was right. I want to live my life “right” before my Creator and Redeemer.
Are you ready to hear what the Lord is saying to you today? If so, open up your spiritual ears and you will surely hear some great and mighty things. When He calls you, respond to that call. Don’t take the call lightly. It means life or death to those who are waiting to hear your testimony of Jesus.
Psalm 85:8 – “I will hear what God the Lord will speak, for He will speak peace to His people and to His saints…”
John 12:26 – “If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.”
PROPHETIC WORD:
Don't look to the left or to the right, but keep your eyes focused upon Me, saith the Lord, for I have some special blessings to bestow upon you. I have words to speak to you and specific things for you to do, places to go, and people to see. Keep your ear towards heaven, saith the Lord, for I desire to speak to you. I desire to instruct you and lead you in the
ways of My Spirit. I desire to guide you by My Presence and Glory. I desire to take you to that special place of intimacy with Me, saith the Lord. The place where I can speak to you, and we can converse together. There are no distractions in this place of intimacy. I desire this time with you, saith the Lord. I've longed for you to be with Me in this special place. I have so much to tell you, so much to show you, so much
to reveal to you. Take the time to hear what I'm saying, saith the Lord, for the words I speak are needful for you and the ministry that I have called you to. For change is coming, saith the Lord. I will trim down the tree, and it will bloom again. There will be a redirecting of My Spirit as I lead you into new avenues of ministry for Me. Keep your ear towards heaven, saith the Lord, for I have much to declare to you.
